CIBSE has appointed Eur ing Dave Cooper (MD of LECS UK) to its Board.
Dave said: “I am delighted to join the CIBSE Board. I have been a keen member of the body for over 29 years and look forward to helping to deliver CIBSE’s goals for 2020 and beyond.”
As one of the world’s foremost authorities on lifts and escalators and a leading expert witness in the area of risk and accidents, Dave is very much admired within the industry.
In his capacity as MD of engineering consultants, LECS UK, he is a key advisor to Governments, including the UK’s Government’s Department for Transport, on major vertical transportation projects. These include London’s only public cable car across the Thames and the new Luton DART. He has also advised on the US$40 million renovation of the Armenian Marriott Hotel, Yerevan as well as the development of Queensway Quay, Gibraltar.
Dave is as regular international speaker at CIBSE global conferences, author of key books on vertical transportation including accidents and litigation within the field, and retains a keen interest in research in his position as an honorary visiting fellow of the University of Northampton.
Dave Cooper will officially take office following the CIBSE AGM in May 2020.
The CIBSE Board is the governing body of the Institution, with the CIBSE Council acting as a consultative and representative body.
