John Bentley is an established professional within the lift industry and has over 39 years of experience. He served his apprenticeship with Hammond & Champness (H&C) from 1977 to 1981. Having completed his apprenticeship, he spent further time with them as a service engineer until 1986 when he became the Resident Engineer for the States of Jersey overseeing projects and providing industry training. In 1990 he returned to the mainland working as a service and repair test engineer for H&C. Shortly after this he moved into the office and became the north west modernization manager until 1994 when he became the regional manager for the north west controlling 3 branch offices. In 1998 he branched out on his own and set up ANSA Elevators which became one of the leading independent lift engineering companies in the UK. In 2015 a scheduled MBO from the business led John to join us at LECS (UK) where he was made a Director in 2018. John holds various industry specific qualifications including CGLI & BTEC which he topped up with a further 6 LEIA module courses. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (ACIBSE). He has presented nationally to the Bureau of Engineering Surveyors, Institute of Surveyors, CIBSE Lift Group and has also written articles for Elevator World and Elevation Magazine (UK). A return to education in 2015 achieved a Nebosh Diploma and TechIOSH in construction safety.
